the DIXON model arrived this afternoon and I just finished unpacking it.
It arrived in perfect condition and is safely on display!. It is an absolutely magnificent
model with terrific details and an accurate rendering of the ship as I remember it.
It transports me back to my time on board and I can recollect the feel and appearance
of the various locations on the ship. I appreciate the skill and attention to detail of
your crafters! Thank you all very much! Since there are only 2 submarine tenders remaining
in the Fleet - and who knows how much longer they will be around - it was important to me to
capture the DIXON in a model before memories of tenders began to fade. I wanted the grandkids
to see what a tender actually looked like and how big it was. I am not aware of any other
model of DIXON in existence. At an appropriate time, I expect that it will donated to a
submarine or Navy museum.Again, thank you and your crafters for your care, diligence and
expert workmanship! I love it!
